Untangling The Web: Get Control of Your Site with Low Cost and Easy to Use Content Management Strategies
1:00-5:00 p.m

State Archives, 1205 Camino Carlos Rey
Cost: $25.00, limited to 16 participants

Maintaining a Web site is no small task—especially for small museums without dedicated (and technically-inclined) staff. But, as more and more people turn to the Web as their first source of information, keeping your Web site fresh and updated is increasingly important. In recent years a number of free services and open source tools have emerged that can significantly simplify the task of maintaining a Web site—even for those with no knowledge of HTML, CSS, or XHTML. In this four-hour workshop, we’ll explore some of these tools, enabling you to take control of your Web site. We’ll look at some common strategies for maintaining simple calendars, blogs, photo galleries, and entire Web sites, and we’ll share our experiences in moving from apprehension to empowerment.

Please sign up on the registration form.
