NMAM Web Site Makeover
Just in time for the Annual Meeting, the New Mexico Association of Museums Web site is getting a makeover.
The goals of the redesign are to make the site easier to navigate and to streamline the updating process, allowing for a more interactive and up-to-date site. The site's development is being coordinated by NMAM's Web site manager Doug Patinka.
"We had a number of discussions among the members of the NMAM Board," says Doug, "trying to determine what exactly we could do with the limited resources available to NMAM. I think we came up with a structure and a design that is flexible enough to allow for future expansion--and we've got lots of plans for that--but that is also manageable within our current constraints."
The new site is being built with open source tools on the ModX Content Management Framework, a PHP and MySQL based system. The launch of the new site is planned for the week of November 1st, when the organization holds its annual conference.
