Nominations Sought for Annual Hewett Awards
Nominations for NMAM's Edgar L. Hewett Award are now being sought. We urge you to nominate an individual or organization that deserves recognition for outstanding leadership, contributions to furthering the museums of our state and the rich artistic, cultural, or scientific heritage they represent. Deadline for nominations is September 15, 2010. Awards will be presented at the NMAM Annual Conference in Las Vegas.

NMAM Scholarship Program
The NMAM Scholarship Program provides up to three $400 scholarships available to students and emerging museum professionals whose attendance at the annual conference will benefit their future involvement in the museum field.

New Mexico Heritage Health Index Survey
The New Mexico Association of Museums and the Conservation Department, Museum Resources, DCA, are conducting a survey of the collection holdings of museums, libraries and archives within New Mexico. This survey will allow the compilation of a report on the health of collections throughout the state of New Mexico and the creation of a plan for addressing some of the most critical collection conservation needs.

Annual Meeting Keynote Address by Kirk Ellis
Award-winning, Santa Fe-based writer/producer Kirk Ellis is best know for his work on the HBO miniseries, "John Adams" starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney, for which he won two Emmys, a Golden Globe, a Writers Guild of America Award and the Humanitas Prize. His Keynote Address "The Drama of History" is open to the public.
