Dr. Dave Warren and the Transformation of Cultural Studies Symposium

The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC), in partnership with the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA), will honor Dr. Dave Warren with the symposium Dr. Dave Warren and the Transformation of Cultural Studies. Few careers have had such a wide-ranging, profound impact on issues concerning modern indigenous people as that of Dr. Dave Warren (Santa Clara). A series of roundtable and paper sessions will be focused on areas related to his groundbreaking work in Native museums and cultural centers, archaeology, Native arts and culture studies, Tribal archies and histories, and Native education. The symposium will present and honor Dr. Warren's considerable work in these areas through case studies and discussions.

PLEASE NOTE:

DAY ONE (October 16, 4-7pm) will begin at the Institute of American Indian Arts Campus, CLE Commons, 83 Avan Nu Po Rd., Santa Fe, NM.

DAY TWO (October 17, 8am-6pm) will be held at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, 710 Camino Lejo off Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM.
