The NMAM Scholarship Program provides up to three $400 scholarships to students and emerging professionals to attend the 2011 Annual Conference, promoting future involvement in the museum profession. Scholarships will be awarded on a demonstrated need basis to qualified applicants, providing funding to cover travel, lodging, and per diem. NMAM will also waive registration fees and provide a one-year membership to all scholarship recipients. Deadline: September 19 by 5:00 p.m.. Your generous donations of objects for the annual Silent Auction provide funding for the NMAM Scholarship Program for emerging museum professionals. Auction items can be dropped off at the Best Western Inn and Suites at the registration table on Wednesday, November 2 from 3-5 p.m. and Thursday, November 3 from 7:30-10 a.m. The auction will open at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday and closes on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Payments, including cash, check, and credit card will be accepted at the close of the auction. Plan to bid high and often.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Farmington Inn & Suites (formerly Best Western), 700 Scott Avenue, Farmington, NM. The conference rate for a room with two queen-size beds is $70 plus tax. Deadline to make a reservation for the block rate is October 26. Call the hotel direct at 505-327-5221 and mention the NMAM Annual Conference.
From I-25, take Exit 240, toward NM-473/Bernalillo S. Turn right onto S. Camino Del Peublo. Turn left onto US-550 N and travel 148 miles. Turn left onto Rd 5500 and travel for 7.5 miles. Make another left onto US-64 W and continue for 5 miles. Make a slight right onto E. Broadway Ave., travel .9 miles, and make another right onto Scott Ave.
