Annual Meeting
2009 NMAM Annual Meeting: Celebrating Heritage
What better place to celebrate heritage than Santa Fe? It’s home to the oldest public building in America, the Palace of the Governors, and a place replete with the heritage of Native American cultures, Spanish explorers, and the countless peoples who came seeking fame and fortune in the American West. Santa Fe’s museums reflect this amazing heritage.

Downtown, you’ll want to visit the New Mexico History Museum and Palace of the Governors, the New Mexico Museum of Art, SITE Santa Fe, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum. Up on Museum Hill, you’ll find the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art, the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of International Folk Art, and the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture/Laboratory of Anthropology. Elsewhere in town is the Santa Fe Children’s Museum and the Randall Davey Audubon Center. And don’t miss the fabulous collection of art at the Roundhouse, including the Governor’s Gallery! Just a short distance out of town is Rancho de los Golondrinas and the Pecos National Historical Park and Greer Garson Ranch House.
Our Annual Conference events package includes a welcome reception at the new New Mexico History Museum, an evening at the Governor’s Mansion, and a closing party at the Hotel Santa Fe. Thursday’s sessions will be downtown with several tours and events planned at the museums on the plaza. On Friday, the conference moves to Museum Hill to give you a chance to explore the fabulous venues there.
