NMAM Long Range Plan

Goals and Objectives, 2010-2012

Committee:

Caroline Brooks, Membership Officer

Linda Deck, Treasurer

Lisa Pugh, Southwest Regional Representative

Laurie Rufe, President

Introduction:

  • The committee sought to produce clear goals with manageable objectives that could be accomplished within a one to two-year timeframe.  The expectation is that the board will review and alter the plan as needed every year in order to set in motion the next year’s goals.
  • Since the mission statement drives the organization and its goals, the committee evaluated the current statement. It was felt that the statement was too long and therefore the committee developed a new, more concise statement with feedback from the board. A vision statement was also developed and accepted.

Revised mission statement:

The New Mexico Association of Museums provides statewide support to New Mexico’s museums, museum professionals, and associated groups through professional development, advocacy, communication, and collaboration.

New Vision statement:

The New Mexico Association of Museums will be the leading voice for the promotion of advocacy, best practices, and excellence in New Mexico’s museums.

Goals:

Goal 1: Enhance Identity, Exposure, and Communications

Goal 2: Expand Professional Development and Collaboration Opportunities
